For 2011 I brought Mountain High a concept to create four new “Los Angeles Features” which were be introduced to their terrain park for the 2011/12 winter season.
The Concert Hall Handrail is the first of the four features to be completed. This massive down-flat-down staircase handrail combo is an exact replica of this iconic concert hall rail.
There may be no more iconic feature in Los Angeles than the Hollywood sign. In a more conceptual move, Mountain High has recreated this infamous sign on a massive 24 by 40 foot wallride.
In the middle of the revitalization of the City of Los Angeles sits the Staples Center and LA Convention Center complex and a ridiculous number of skate-style features. We chose the Convention Center rail and ledge to recreate and bring into the terrain park at Mountain High.
In another conceptual move, we puts Mountain High’s new 18 foot Zaugg Transition Cutter to work to recreate the infamous Wedge surf spot as a massive quarterpipe in the terrain park.
The concept was illustrated in this four ad campaign that included Mountain High’s new pro team interacting with the features. The was an monumental marketing effort to take a concept and develop it into the construction of the features, placing them on the mountain and then seeing snowboarders using them. Wild!
They ran in Transworld Snowboarding Magazine, Snowboarder Magazine, Snowboard Magazine and Bliss Magazine.
